CreateLinkFromSelection

Creates a new link node as a child of selection or as a child of the root node and sets the link node to reference the active selection. You can use this command to create link nodes that point at any content in the active database. You cannot use this command to create link nodes that point at nodes in external files.

Using This Command

Select any node and apply the command. You should not create a link node that references its parent. [This creates a circular reference, which is prohibited in Scenome's strict directed acyclic graph.]

  1. Select a node.
  2. Right click and choose Create » Links From Selection from the listed options.
  3. The software adds a link node to the scene graph. The link references the current selection.
  4. If you select multiple nodes this command creates multiple link nodes.
