CreateTerrainPreviewMesh / GEOTIFF

This command creates terrain preview meshes from GEOTIFF elevation imagery.

Using This Command To Create A Terrain Preview Mesh

Select a group node and apply the command.

  1. Select File » Import Geotiffs for Elevation from the main menu.
  2. The software displays the common file dialog and allows you to select one or more GEOTIFF files.
  3. Select a GEOTIFF file that contains elevation data and click Open.
  4. Scenome creates terrain preview meshes from the imagery and places the camera near the mesh[es].

The Preview Mesh

This command creates preview mesh geometry from the input GEOTIFF files. The preview mesh is intentionally low-resolution and serves as a visual guide from which paged terrain tiles are derived.
