Distributed Trimming

Distributed trimming involves trimming a single mesh with a correllated footprint mesh. This procedure has many advantages but the primary advantage is ease-of-revision. Using a single mesh with parametric integration makes it possible to localize revisions to a single file.

All four terrain quadrants reference ROAD.BOX and LAKE.BOX as constraints. Changes to either of these footprint files results in changes to the individual terrain databases. Thus you are not required to envision your scene building process as a monolithic process but instead as a series of processes implemented in the directed acyclic graph.
