Distributing The Mesh

Learn how to displace the mesh with part of the displacement map.

  1. The worksheet looks like this: This is a picture of the worksheet.
  2. Left click Terrain_2x1.
  3. Wait a second and left click again. The node opens for naming.
  4. Set its name to Terrain_2x2 and hit ENTER when you are finished.
  5. Right click over the RectangleGeometryModifier named GeometryLayer.
  6. Select Position » Shift Along X+ from the listed options.
  7. The worksheet looks like this: This is a picture of the worksheet.
  8. The geometry is the correct size.
  9. Examine the hierarchy.
  10. Double click DisplaceModifier.
  11. This displays modifier properties in the property editor.
  12. Scroll down and find the Displace property group.
  13. Set Starting Corner X to 255.
  14. Set Starting Corner Y to 255.
  15. This tells the DisplaceModifier to use the second quarter of the displacement map to displace the vertices.

  17. Select File » Save from the main menu.
  18. You have created four separate databases. Each database contains a granule of the terrain
