Getting Started

Ideally, Scenome installs perfectly. Let's make sure.

  1. Start the software.
  2. The workspace looks like this: This is a picture of the workspace immediately following start up.
  3. We're going to set up the interface. Don't worry, we only have to do this once.
  4. Move the mouse over the horizontal gripper bar above the second panel. The correct location is outlined in red. Left click and drag the panel completely over the other panel. Grab the horizontal gripper bar in the location shown here.
  5. The workspace looks like this: The panels docked on top of each other.
  6. Move the mouse over the vertical bar on the right side of the docking panel.
  7. When the cursor changes to a sizing cursor, left click and drag the vertical bar to the right until it is lined up with the right edge of the Worksheet option on the main menu. The panels sized appropriately.
    NOTE: You can actually drag the vertical sizing bar to wherever you want.
  8. Move the cursor over the menu bar, to the right of the Help menu option.
  9. Right click to display the interface command menu. Right click in the gray area next to the Help option on the main menu.
  10. Select Customize from the listed options.
  11. This displays the Customization Center.
  12. Left click the Toolbars tab. The customization center.
  13. Left click the Standard Toolbar option. The toolbar appears. [ The toolbar might appear behind the Customization Center. Don't worry about this. ]
  14. The workspace looks like this: The standard toolbar.
  15. Left click and drag the Standard Toolbar directly beneath the left edge of the screen, below the main menu. The standard toolbar in the correct location.
  16. Examine the Customization Center and click the Close button.
  17. Examine the panels on the left side of the interface.
  18. Find the lower panel.
  19. Left click the tab titled Scripts.
  20. The editor looks like this: This is a picture of the script editor.
  21. Use the scroll bar to examine the scripts.
  22. Make sure all the scripts have a check in the box to the left of the script name.
  23. The paths do not have to match the paths shown in the above image.
  24. Left click the small × in the upper right corner of the panel containing the scripts/output editors. DO NOT CLOSE THE PRIMARY PANEL!
  25. Shut Scenome down and restart the application.
