Learn To Rotate

Scenome's rotation is combined with select mode functionality. This means you can create, clear, and alter selections while in rotate mode. You can also switch between translate, scale, and rotate without losing your current selection.

Setup Work

  1. Start Scenome.
  2. Open MY DOCUMENTS\SCENOMICS\EXERCISES\LEARN_TO_ROTATE.BOX.
  3. Enable Worksheet » Show » Global Edges from the main menu.
  4. Disable Worksheet » Show » Lights from the main menu.

Learn To Rotate

By default, select mode is active when the software starts.

  1. Left click the worksheet.
  2. Hit E to set the software to rotate mode.

    The rotate manipulator appears.

  3. Hit H and hold down SHIFT to set the software to select faces.
  4. Select a few faces. It doesn't really matter which faces you select. This is a picture of the worksheet.
  5. Left click the green handle and drag it slowly to the left.

    The face rotates along Y-.

  6. Hit CTRL + Z to undo the transformation. Do not undo the selection.
  7. Select Worksheet » Manipulator » Reset Orientation from the main menu. [ ALT + W + M + O ]

    The manipulator orientation is reset.

  8. Hold down SHIFT and left click and drag the green handle to the right.

    The faces rotate in 45-degree increments.
