Learn To Scale
Scenome's scaling is combined with select mode functionality. This means you can create,
clear, and alter selections while in scale mode.
Setup Work
- Start Scenome.
- Open MY DOCUMENTS\SCENOMICS\EXERCISES\LEARN_TO_SCALE.BOX.
- Enable Worksheet » Show » Global Edges from the main menu.
- Disable Worksheet » Show » Lights from the main menu.
The worksheet looks like this:

Learn To Scale
By default, select mode is active when the software starts.
- Left click the worksheet.
- Hit W to set the software to scale mode.
The scale manipulator appears.
- Hit H to set the software to select faces.
- Select a single face. It doesn't really matter which face you select.
- Select » Worksheet » Manipulator » Align With Centroid from the main menu.

- Left click the red "line" handle and drag it slowly to the left or right.
The face scales along X+.
The worksheet looks like this: ( Your results may not match exactly. )

- Hit CTRL + Z to undo the changes.
- Hold down SHIFT and left click and drag any manipulator handle to the right.
The face scales uniformly along X, Y, and Z. This includes Z although there is no coordinate change on Z at present.
