Scenome's translation is combined with select mode functionality. This means you can create,
clear, and alter selections while in translate mode.
Make sure Scenome is not running.
Start Scenome.
Open \EXERCISES\LEARN_TO_TRANSLATE.BOX from inside the Scenome data folder.
The path is likely C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Scenomics\Exercises.
NOTE: Your system might use a specific user name in the path instead of "OWNER".
Select Worksheet » Global Edges from the main menu. [ ALT + W + E ]
Select Worksheet » Show » Lights from the main menu. [ ALT + W + S + L ]
The worksheet looks like this:
By default, select mode is active when the software starts.
Left click the worksheet.
Hit Q to set the software to translate mode.
The translate tweaker appears.
Hit K to set the software to select vertices.
Hold down SHIFT and select a few vertices. It doesn't really matter which vertices you select.
Left click and drag the blue tweaker handle downward.
This translates the vertices along Z-.
Examine the hierarchy on the left side of your workspace.
There are one or more TransformModifiers. Whenever you translate, scale, or
rotate mesh geometry, the software automatically adds a TransformModifier to the
construction history.
Double click the TransformModifier to see its properties. You can change transform properties if you want.
