Learn To Translate

Setup Work

  1. Start Scenome.
  2. Open MY DOCUMENTS\SCENOMICS\EXERCISES\LEARN_TO_TRANSLATE.BOX.
  3. Enable Worksheet » Show » Global Edges from the main menu.
  4. Disable Worksheet » Show » Lights from the main menu.

Learn To Translatet

By default, select mode is active when the software starts.

  1. Left click the worksheet.
  2. Hit Q to set the software to translate mode.

    The translate manipulator appears.

  3. Hit H to set the software to select faces.
  4. Use SHIFT + left click to select a set of faces. It doesn't really matter which face you select. This is a picture of the worksheet.
  5. Left click the blue "line" handle and drag it slowly toward the bottom of the worksheet.

    This translates the face along Z-.

  6. Examine the hierarchy: This is a picture of the hierarchy.

    The software adds a TransformModifier to the mesh construction history.
