Create Keyboard Accelerator

Creating a new keyboard accelerator is easy. You can bind any command to almost any accelerator, but there are a few sensible limitations.

1. Start the application.
2. Select Desktop » Customize from the main menu.
3. Left click the Keyboard tab.
4. Select the command category from the Category drop-down list.
5. Find the specific command in the Commands list box.
6. Examine the Current Keys field.
7. If it is empty, you can proceed. Otherwise you must clear the current accelerator first.
   To clear the accelerator, left click the accelerator key name in Current Keys and left click the Remove button.
8. Now left click the Press New Shortcut Key field. This takes control of the keyboard.
9. Hit the key stroke you wish to use as the command accelerator.
10. Left click the Assign button if the text [Unassigned] appears below the Press New Shortcut Key field.
11. Click Close if you are finished.
12. If the text Assigned To: [command name] appears, you must clear the accelerator or make another choice.
    To clear the accelerator, left click the Remove button. This removes the accelerator from the previous command.
13. Left click the Assign button to assign the accelerator to the current command.
14. Click Close if you are finished.
