The root node is the top of the hierarchy and is the only node that does not have a parent. If you wish to change the numeric properties or units labeling for a database, root properties contains these settings. Root is a sub class of group. The root is the only node you cannot delete.
The root node, an EditModel3D object in programming terms, represents the model. This includes ModelView objects and ModelTool objects.
